U.S. Citizens Traveling To Cuba
Effective June 4, 2019 the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) implemented policy changes that seek to channel economic activities away from the Cuban military, intelligence and security services, while maintaining opportunities for Americans to engage in authorized travel to Cuba and support the private small business sector in Cuba.
Lawful travel to Cuba by Americans continues to be allowed as follows: (1) all "Support for the Cuban People" nonacademic educational travel be conducted under the auspices of an organization that is subject to U.S. jurisdiction and that sponsors such exchanges to promote support for the Cuban people, independent religious organizations and private business (Global Gallop - Cuba with Batia - is an authorized organization), and (2) such travelers be accompanied by a person subject to U.S. jurisdiction who is a representative of the sponsoring organization.
In order to comply with Homeland Security, each traveler must complete a "Support for the Cuban People" application form. U.S. citizens traveling to Cuba must purchase their Visa to enter Cuba at the airport prior to departure.
